An oxygen administration apparatus comprises a source of oxygen 2, an oxygen administration device 6 and a flexible oxygen-conducting line 4 connectable at one end to the source of oxygen 2 and at another end to the oxygen administration device 6. The flexible oxygen-conducting line 4 includes a safety valve 10 which comprises a shuttle 20, a sealing ring 40 carried by the shuttle 20, means such as a compression spring 64 biasing the shuttle 20 in a valve closing direction and a fusible stop 32 preventing closure of the valve. In the event of a fire, the stop 32 fuses causing the spring 64 to close the valve 10. Flow of oxygen to the fire is thus halted. |
