A suspension device for the rear wheel of a motorcycle comprises a swinging fork (2) with a first end (3) pivoted, about an axis (4), to the frame or engine (5) of a motorcycle and a second end (8) carrying an axle (9) of a wheel (10); a spring - damper assembly (14) pivoted at a first intermediate point (15) of the fork (2) between the first end (3) and the second end (8) of the fork (2). The spring - damper assembly (14) has a damper (19) comprising a cylindrical body (20) and a shaft (21) passing axially through the cylindrical body (20); the through-shaft (21) slides axially in the cylindrical body (20) and has two ends (22, 23) positioned on opposite sides of the cylindrical body (20). The suspension device also comprises an articulated linkage (24) connecting a second intermediate point (25) of the fork (2), the spring - damper assembly (14) and the motorcycle frame or engine (5). <IMAGE> |
