PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the device height of a magnetic head supporting mechanism by making a pressing spring unnecessary. SOLUTION: This mechanism is provided with a holding substrate 13 for holding a magnetic head, a base 10, and an elastic connecting member 14 one end of which is connected to the holding substrate and the other end of which is connected to the base. The base 10 is provided with supporting parts Pb1, Pb2 which abut on positions between a magnetic head holding part and one end on one main surface of the holding substrate 13 to rotatably support the holding substrate, and abutting parts Pd1, Pd2 which abut on the other main surface of one end of the holding substrate to hold the magnetic head in a predetermined position. One end of the connecting member 14 is connected to press the holding substrate in a position apart from the supporting part in a magnetic head holding part arranging direction so that the other main surface of one end of the holding member on the abutting part of the base.
