PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for automatically discriminating an access mode of a serial memory of an interface based upon an SPI to which a response bit is not imparted. SOLUTION: A DI port of a memory 1 whose memory size is not known is applied with 4 byte zero(00h) following a writing command to execute writing processing (step f1), and then applied with 4 byte zero(00h) following a reading command to execute the reading processing of decision data (step f2).
