<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the errors in degree of aberration due to the amount of moisture of the tissues irradiated with the laser beam. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a laser irradiation optical system which irradiates the ocular tissues with the laser beam for causing the aberration, a sound detection means which detects the impact sounds generated in the aberration of the ocular tissues as caused by irradiation with the laser beam and a monitoring means which monitors dry condition of the ocular tissues subjected to the aberration based on the levels of the impact sounds detected. The monitoring means includes a means for comparing the sound pressure levels of the impact sounds with the reference sound pressure level as given when the specified aberration rate is determined and a means for informing the results thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
