PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal ring working method capable of grinding a side edge of a metal ring without performing barrel grinding nor grinding with a grinding wheel. SOLUTION: The metal ring 1 is circularly held by a clamp 12, and rotated in the circumferential direction. A grinding brush 9 formed by binding nylon wire materials containing abrasives is made to abut on a circumferential track of the metal ring 1 at the predetermined incident angleθto grind outside of the side edge of the metal ring 1. Furthermore, the grinding brush is passed through between the inner peripheral surface and the center of the metal ring 1 to abut on the inner peripheral surface of the metal ring 1 at the predetermined leave angleθto grind the inner peripheral surface. This angleθis set at 20°-45°to form the side edge of the metal ring into an excellent chamfered shape. Chamfering the side edge of the metal ring 1 can be performed by using the grinding brush 9 without performing barrel grinding nor the work with a grinding wheel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
