PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retainer for a one-way clutch and a manufacturing method of the retainer capable of being freely set for repulsion of an elastic piece and capable of more exactly set for a drag between the retainer and an outer ring. SOLUTION: The one-way clutch (1) is comprised of a sprag (2) which is arranged between the outer ring and an inner ring which are relatively rotatable with each other to transmit a torque; a spring member (7) to urge the sprag in the engagement direction; and the retainers (3 and 4) having a plurality of windows (8) for holding the sprag, connecting the adjoining windows by partially cutting specified positions out of a pole between the windows, and providing the elastic piece (6) which elastically engages with respect to the outer ring or the inner ring by bending the pole.
