PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic setting device of a tunnel which automatically sets a tunnel and the method for automatically setting a tunnel. SOLUTION: The automatic setting device of a tunnel 101 obtains an authentication key corresponding to a T side unique IPv6 address from an authentication server 50 by using the T side unique IPv6 address which is uniquely assigned to the automatic setting device of a tunnel 101 and an IPv4 address of a M side router 201 to which the tunnel should be set, and generates the IPv6 address of the M side router 201. Additionally, the automatic setting device of a tunnel 101 sets the T side unique IPv6 address, the IPv4 address assigned by an ISP side DHCP server 302, the IPv6 address of the M side router 201 and the IPv4 address of the M side router 201 as a tunnel information, also obtains a routing information of the tunnel by transmitting the T side unique IPv6 address and the authentication key to the M side router 201 and sets it as the tunnel information.
