PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active sound arrester that effectively insulate a sound with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The active sound arrester is equipped with a microphone 11 for reference signal detection which is arranged on a sound insulation wall K on the side of a noise source S and measures noise from the noise source S nearby the sound insulation wall K, a control microphone 12 which is arranged on the sound insulation wall K on the side of a sound reception area and measures noise in the vicinity of the sound insulation wall K, a couple of control speakers 13 and 14 which are installed at the upper end Ka of the sound insulation wall and generates control sounds for reducing the object noise to be controlled in the sound reception area, and a control part 20 which controls the output of the control sounds according to the output from the microphone 11 for reference signal detection.
