<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a wavelength path exchange node apparatus capable of increasing utilization efficiency in a wavelength resource by controlling the allocation of a wavelength path by following traffic fluctuation in packet units. <P>SOLUTION: A node apparatus 2a at the starting-point side of the wavelength path comprises a packet distribution section 11 for accumulating an input packet at a buffer and taking out a packet from the buffer for distributing to initial and additional paths, a control unit 13 for controlling the allocation of the additional path based on the distribution state of the packet unit, and an optical switch 12 for exchanging the wavelength path by the control. A node apparatus 2b at the endpoint side of the wavelength path comprises a monitoring section 21 for monitoring the packet distributed to the initial and additional paths, a control unit 23 for controlling the allocation of the additional path based on the distribution state of the packet unit obtained by the monitor, and an optical switch 22 for exchanging the wavelength path by the control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
