PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an objective lens for an endoscope, a lens having a high optical performance despite a compact structure as a whole. SOLUTION: This objective lens has a simple structure consisting of three single lenses, the first to the third lens L1-L3 in this order from an object side and also satisfies conditional expressions (1) to (3). As a result, it makes excellent compensation for various aberrations while attaining compactness. Particularly, since the surfaces S1-S6 include no aspheric surfaces, a high dimensional accuracy can be comparatively easily obtained. In addition, a diaphragm St is arranged to come into contact with the surface on the object side of the second lens L2, so that telecentric property can be secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
