<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming system in which printing can be carried out efficiently by assigning a print request to an image forming apparatus having a small print stock among a plurality of image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming system is connected with a plurality of image forming apparatus (101) wherein an image forming apparatus (A) can print the image of print data sent from a client unit (102) or a facsimile (103) and can transfer the image data being printed to other image forming apparatus (B-E) for printing. The image forming apparatus (A) comprises a means for acquiring the print stock conditions of other image forming apparatus (B-E) and when the image forming apparatus (A) receives a print request from the client unit (102) or the facsimile (103) during print operation, an image forming apparatus (101) performing printing in response to that print request is determined based on the print stock conditions of each image forming apparatus (101).
