PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive which evades the off-track in the tracking operation at a boundary area of a recorded part and unrecorded part by an easy algorithm. SOLUTION: This drive is furnished with a tracking control part for carrying out the tracking control on the track of the optical disk, a focus control part for carrying out the focusing control on the track of the optical disk, and a focus offset control part for adding the offset to the focus control part, and when the information is recorded or reproduced around the boundary area of the recorded track and unrecorded track, the focus control is carried out by adding the offset from the focus offset control part.
