PURPOSE: A handset having a portable multi-functional remote controller is provided to confirm transmission and receipt of a telephone and an information message while controlling information equipments such as mobile phones, PDAs, etc.. CONSTITUTION: A signal transmitting device(120) transmits electric signals transmitted from a data processor(130) of a remote control(100) to a portable information equipment or PC(Personal Computer), and transmits electric signals transmitted from the portable information equipment or PC to the data processor(130). The remote control(100) includes the data processor(130) converting the electric signals received from the portable information equipment or PC into signals which a control unit(140) of the remote control(100) can process and converting electric signals received from the control unit(140) into signals appropriate for equipments, a key input unit(150) receiving a command of a user, and the control unit(140) processing the signals transmitted from the data processor(130) and a microphone(180) to transmit the processed signals to the data processor(130) and an earphone(170). The microphone(180) converts external sound signals into electric signals to transmit the electric signals to the control unit(140). The earphone(170) converts the electric signals into sound signals.
