<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display having satisfactory image quality without reduction of chromaticity as compared with the chromaticity of a normally white mode semi-transmission liquid crystal display even when a normally black mode is adopted and capable of securing the gap of a reflection part by which occurrence of defects can be suppressed, lowering voltage, realizing low power consumption, and enhancing image quality since the color of a transmission dark state is made a more natural color. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display 10 provided with a reflection part 22 and a transmission part 23 in one pixel and adopting a normally black mode showing a dark state when no voltage is applied, the alignment mode of a liquid crystal 21 is a twist alignment mode, a polarizing plate 13b and a retardation plate 12b are provided on a visual confirmation surface side and a polarizing plate 13a is provided on the rear surface side. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
