PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stratum corneum removing method capable of easily removing only an excessive stratum corneum leaving a normal, uniform, strong, thin and flexible stratum corneum. SOLUTION: When alternately repeating an infiltration process of filling a foot bath device 12 with the hot water of high concentration aqueous solution of salt whose main component is sodium chloride and magnesium chloride, immersing the feet 11 for 30 minutes and infiltrating the salt into the stratum corneum and a swelling process of immersing the feet 11 in the hot water for 15 minutes or longer and swelling the stratum corneum at the time of bathing, the difference between swelling and drying shrinkage becomes larger for the stratum corneum where drying and hardening are advanced, the number of times of the repetition of swelling and drying shrinkage becomes larger for the stratum corneum dead for many days, and it becomes weak and easily removable. On the other hand, for the thin stratum corneum adjacent to living skin cells, since dehydration is accelerated by an osmotic pressure and it develops into a thin, uniform, fine and flexible stratum corneum, it is not damaged by normal nail or pumice stone rubbing, and sufficient strength and fineness are secured even when the stratum corneum of an upper layer is removed and it is exposed to the surface.
