PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machine and method for massage by which a person to be massaged can be massaged in a, so-called, body friendly manner in which no reaction works against stimuli in the body of the person while the person is unconscious of it. SOLUTION: In the method, a preparatory massaging action including back muscle stretching and rubbing action is performed in an area to be massaged of the person to be massaged so as to relieve the stiffness of the whole body. When the massaging action to all finger-pressure therapy performing spots in individual areas to be massaged is finished, a stiffness relieving action is performed in all areas to be massaged. In addition, when the massaging action to all finger-pressure therapy performing spots in all areas to be massaged is finished, a stiffness relieving massage is performed on the whole body of the person.
