PURPOSE: An electric charging apparatus is provided to improve the image quality of a printing master sheet. CONSTITUTION: A pair of electric chargers(4A,4b) are installed opposite to each other on both sides of an electric charge target sheet. A guide element(26) guides the electric chargers to be movable in the opposite directions. A position control device controls the electric chargers at positions of the opposite direction. A control device memorizes a curl state of the passing electric charge target sheet, and applies a position control signal to the position control signal according to the read curl state of the electric charge target sheet. The position control device includes a stepping motor(39) driven by the position control signal, a connecting rod(37) converting rotary driving of the stepping motor for transmitting the converted driving to the electric chargers, and a bell crank(33) connected with the connecting rod.
