<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of performing appropriate lightness correction, its method and a recording medium with an image processing control program recorded thereon. <P>SOLUTION: In the image processor for applying predetermined image processing to a target image, first of all, the target image is divided into a plurality of regions by a luminance average calculating part (20a) and a luminance average for each region is found. The region where the luminance average is the lowest, is then selected by a reference region selecting means (20b) as a reference region out of the regions occupying a main portion of the target image and with the luminance average in the selected reference region as a luminance reference value, a lightness correcting means (20d) performs sampling for appropriate lightness correction on the basis of a difference between the relevant luminance reference value and the luminance averages in the respective regions and positions of the respective regions. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
