<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size of a contact part in a pointing device including a contact part for placing a finger thereon. <P>SOLUTION: With the finger pressed to a sensor surface 12 of a fingerprint sensor 11, the finger is shifted a little from the sensor surface, and a mouse pointer is moved in the shifting direction.
