PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture at low cost a length meter of a simple structure for measuring the size of a work, when earthenware is manufactured. SOLUTION: A clip (A) is made by working an elastic wire-like material, is of somewhat a lozenge shape, and has a circular upper bearing (1) at its upper part, has V-shaped armrests (2, 3) on both sides of its intermediate part, and has circular lower bearings (4, 5) on both sides of its lower end. A thin cylindrical pivot (6) is attached piercing the upper and lower bearings (1, 4, 5) of the clip (A). Moreover, an arm (7) is attached to the pivot (6), using the elastic force of the clip (A) so as to be a cruciform. The arm (7) can be rotated, together with the clip (A) around the pivot (6), keeping fixed the angle of the cross composed of the arm (7) and the pivot (6), can be moved along the pivot (6), and can be stopped at an arbitrary position of the pivot (6).
