PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for suppressing the decrease in pH of a chlorobutanol-containing artificial tear liquid and a chlorobutanol-containing artificial tear liquid with a suppressed decrease in pH. SOLUTION: The artificial tear liquid contains chlorobutanol and citric acid or its salt. Preferably, the mole ratio of the content of citric acid or its salt to that of chlorobutanol is 2 or higher.
