<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management system in which secrecy of an electronic document with an access right set thereto can be managed even when this electronic document is printed on a printing medium. <P>SOLUTION: In the document management system, when printing of the electronic document to which the access right is set is instructed, a secret portion to which the access right is set, is converted into a two-dimensional (2D) code 310 and printed on a printing medium 3.
