PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod in which a rod butt has a rotation function and falling-out of a butt stopper is prevented. SOLUTION: A female screw 1b is formed in the internal circumference of the rear end 1a of a base rod 1. The butt stopper 2 is threadably mounted on the female screw 1b and a cylindrical part 2b is formed on the front side of a rod butt ring 2a and a male screw 2c is formed in the outer periphery of the cylindrical part 2b and a small-sized circumferential groove 2d and a flange part 2e are formed in a stepped part on the rear side of the rod butt ring 2a and a cylindrical part 2f and a hole part 2g are formed in the center. A rigid ring-shaped member 4 and a rod butt rubber 5 are attached to the rear end of the butt stopper 2. The rigid ring-shaped member 4 is formed of a metal material, a synthetic resin, etc. In the rigid ring-shaped member 4, the shape of internal circumference 4a is nearly ellipse and short axis diameterαis smaller than the external diameter of the flange part 2e and long axis diameterβis not smaller than the external diameter of the flange 2e and the rigid ring-shaped member 4 is fixed to the front end of outer shell part 5a of the rod butt rubber 5 by adhesion or monolithic molding.
