PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing a waste plastic capable of particularly increasing an apparent density of the waste plastic and performing an enough volume reduction, and to provide an apparatus for processing the waste plastic for realizing the method for processing. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for processing is equipped with an agitating processing part 2 comprising a granulating device of agitating and granulating type (which serves a mixing and agitating apparatus of a mechanical agitating type (a vertical rotating shaft type) as well) and a compression processing part 3 comprising a pneumatic press device. At first, the waste plastic is fed into a tank 6 of the agitating processing part 2 and is sheared while it is ground by a rotating wing 20. A processed product of the waste plastic whose volume is reduced and temperature is elevated thereby is then, fed into a compression room 33 of the compression processing part 3, and is compressed by a press cylinder 31 to obtain the waste plastic as a massive body with a high apparent density.
