PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize the entire linear motor even if a stator core component is not reduced in size. SOLUTION: A linear motor 10 comprises a moving member 12 and a stator 14 provided around the moving member 12. On the axis of the moving member 12, a permanent magnet 16, for example, of a specified length L is formed. The stator 14 comprises a plurality of stator core pieces 22, and a plurality of grooves 26, formed on the stator core piece 22 at a prescribed pitch L, and receives a plurality of stator coils 24. The plurality of stator core pieces are so arranged as tilted by a prescribed angleθfrom the radial direction of the moving member 12 toward the circumferential direction. In manufacturing the linear motor 10, the stator 14 is easily formed by winding the core material, in which a plurality of stator core pieces 22 are so stacked as displaced sequentially around the stator coil 24.
