PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a shift lever device by dispensing with the securing of the projecting space of a sub slider at both the sides in the width direction of a main slider. SOLUTION: The shift lever device of an automatic transmission comprises a shift lever movably providing first and second shift paths and a connection path; a cover member for forming the first and second shift paths and the connection path; a main slider that shields the first and second shift paths accompanied by operation in the first and second shift paths in the shift lever, and supports the cover member so that the main slider can travel in the extension direction of the first and second shift paths; and a sub slider supported by the main slider so that a sub insertion hole travels in a direction, where the connection path is extended, while shielding the main insertion hole accompanied by the operation in the connection path of the shift lever. Further, the sub slider is rotatably provided in the main slider, and a sub insertion hole inserting the shift lever is formed and provided at a position separated from the rotation center of the sub slider.
