<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal information management system which can reliably identify a person by a face collation technique of low collation rate without using a physical medium with high operability. <P>SOLUTION: The personal information management system has an image inputting means which photographs and inputs an image of a person; a face image detection means which accumulates the face images of two or more persons for an arbitrary period, and transmits the images to a collation means; the collation means which extracts face feature information from the received face image, compares it with two or more pieces of the face feature information registered with a face feature database to compute the degree of similarlity, and acquires two or more pieces of individual information on two or more registered persons of high degree of similarity by referring to the database; a narrowing-down means which uses the individual information included in the collation result and classifies the collation result by narrowing-down information; and a display selection means which generates a display screen for displaying two or more face image groups detected by the face image detection means and the classified collation result including the face image and the narrowing-down information.
