PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for turning a wrench and a fixing element for continuously turning the fixing element without separating the wrench from the fixing element when the fixing element, such as a nut, a bolt, is turned in the same rotational direction in order to fasten or remove the fixing element using the wrench. SOLUTION: The fixing element 12, such as the nut, or the bolt, is turned by being gripped between a fixed jaw 3, which is protrusively arranged on an end of a handle 2 and has a semicircular inside surface, and a movable jaw 4, which is movable with respect to the fixed jaw 3. Engaging portions 7, 8 are formed at base portions of the fixed jaw 3 and the movable jaw 4, and relief grooves 9, 10 are formed between the fixed jaw 3 and the engaging portion 7 and between the movable jaw 4 and the engaging portion 8. Further, the length L1 of the fixed jaw 3 is formed so as to be shorter than the length L2 of each side of the fixing element 12. The fixing element 12 is turned in the same rotational direction in order to fasten or remove it. In addition, the wrench 1 can be idly turned in the opposite direction with respect to the fixing element 12 in the fixed state at the fastened position or the removing position.
