ISSUING PUBLISHER USE LICENSE OFF-LINE IN DIGITAL RIGHT MANAGEMENT (DRM) SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method allowing flexibly controlled rendering/playing of digital contents in optional form and allowing a contents owner/developer of the digital contents to define the control.

SOLUTION: A publishing user is fed with a publishing certificate from a digital rights management (DRM) server, while the publishing certificate has a public key (PU-OLP) and a corresponding private key PR-OLP encrypted by a public key (PU-ENTITY) related to the publishing user, and (PU-ENTITY(PR-OLP)) is formed. The contents is developed and encrypted according to a contents key (CK), and a right label is encrypted by a public key (PU-DRM) of the DRM server to be formed for encryption using a (CK) for forming (PU-DRM(CK)).
