PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tip slanted fiber having high coupling efficiency with a light accepting element. SOLUTION: The tip section of an optical fiber 11 is connected to a coreless fiber 12 having the same outer diameter as the optical fiber, and a curved face 14 inclined with respect to the optical axis is formed on the tip section of the coreless fiber 12 to constitute the tip slanted fiber 124. The boundary part 15 between the curved face at the tip section and the outer circumference side face of the coreless fiber 12 forms a round face. Or, a metal thin film is formed by a metallizing process on the outer circumference side face of the tip slanted fiber 124 except for the tip section of the coreless fiber 12.
