PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording control method for an optical disk recording and reproducing device with which a signal can be recorded on a disk by an optical pickup. SOLUTION: An error included in the reproduced signal of a disk signal preliminarily recorded in a disk 1 is detected during recording operation, when a few errors are detected, a recording start position is searched on the basis of an address obtained from the disk signal and recording operation is started, and when a lot of errors are detected, a recording start position is searched on the basis of an address obtained from a record signal recorded in the disk 1 and recording operation is started.
