The freezing of Antarctic krill for subsequent use comprises draining to reduce the krill weight by ca. 5 per cent. Also claimed is the semi-finished product of the process. The product can be prepared from frozen krill thawed to e.g. -2[deg]C and undergoing separation of the suspended matter from its liquid fraction. Both the liquid and dense fractions are frozen for subsequent use.
