PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake air amount controller capable of accurately determining relation between a throttle opening and an intake air amount in a predetermined throttle opening region. SOLUTION: The intake air amount controller comprises a throttle valve 18 disposed in an engine intake passage, and a detecting means for detecting the relation between the throttle opening and the intake air amount in a specific state. The relations between the throttle openings and the intake air amounts in at least two specific states are detected by the detecting means, and the relation between the throttle opening and the intake air amount in the predetermined throttle opening region based on these detected relations is determined. A target intake air amount is calculated in response to the engine operating state, and the throttle opening is controlled according to the relation determined so as to provide the target intake air amount.
