<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hinge for opening, by 360°, a display part of a portable electronic device with a thin monitor such as a liquid crystal monitor, such as a notebook-sized personal computer or a PDA, or a remote controller cover of an electronic device. <P>SOLUTION: This portable electronic device with the thin monitor comprises a body casing with a keyboard, and a lid casing with the monitor. The portable electronic device has a 360°rotation mechanism including a rotary shaft wherein a cross section has a shape formed by cutting into a true circle with parallel lines, wherein a cross section of a bearing structure has an integral shape comprising an upper circular bearing, a lower circular bearing and a passageway connecting the two bearings, and wherein a width of the parallel lines is set to a width allowing passage through the passageway between the two bearings. By rotating the rotary shaft by 180°in the upper bearing, passing the rotary shaft through the passageway and rotating the rotary shaft by 180°, the lid casing and the body casing can be turned upside down. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
