PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color correction table generating method, image processing apparatus, image processing method and recording medium in which a color reproducing area of an output system can be more effectively utilized. SOLUTION: In the image processing apparatus, a color correction table is used to apply desired color correction to an image input signal. The image processing apparatus is equipped with a color correction table for saturation intensification for applying saturation intensifying processing to a desired color point in the image input signal in the area where an output gamut is larger than an input gamut, and the color correction table for saturation intensification is used to perform desired color correction corresponding to the image input signal. When the desired color point is approximately achromatic, the color correction table for saturation intensification does not perform saturation intensifying processing. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
