PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film feeder having improved operability, and capable of efficiently feeding a film, and to provide an image scanner equipped with the film feeder. SOLUTION: A negative setter 12 is provided with film holders 16A to 16E for setting the films to be supplied. The film holders 16A to 16E are respectively provided with detecting sensors 17A to 17E for detecting that the films are set, and lamps 18A to 18E which are lighted when the films are set, and which are not lighted when the films are not set. Then, the user can obviously judge whether or not the film is set, and also, the user can neatly set a plurality of films on a film setting part. Besides, as for the negative setter 12, in which film holder the film is set can be recognized by the detecting sensors 17A to 17E, and the films can be successively fed out.
