PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pit multistage parking system capable of parking long vehicles and low in construction cost. SOLUTION: This pit multistage parking system 1 is provided with a plurality of stages of pallets which are a middle stage pallet 3 and a lower stage pallet 4 operative to be housed in a pit 9, and an upper stage pallet 2 exposed on the ground. The middle stage pallet 3 and the lower stage pallet 4 are used for ordinary vehicles W1, and the upper stage pallet 2 can be mounted with the long vehicle W2 longer than the pit length. A ground drive-in section is provided with housed vehicle detecting means 23, 24a, 24b, 24c, 25, 26 for detecting the housed dimension excess of the ordinary vehicles W1 mounted on the middle stage pallet 3 and lower stage pallet 4, and long vehicle detecting means 22, 23, 25, 26 for detecting the allowable dimension excess of the long vehicle W2 mounted on the upper stage pallet 2.
