<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-aqueous lithium secondary battery which is superior in over-discharge cycle characteristics and is also superior in discharge preservation characteristics and charge preservation characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: This is the non-aqueous lithium secondary battery which comprises at least a negative electrode having a negative electrode material that stores and releases lithium reversibly, a positive electrode having a positive electrode material that stores and releases lithium reversibly, and a non-aqueous electrolytic solution. The BET specific surface area of the positive electrode material is set to 0.1-2.0 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and the non-aqueous electrolytic solution is made to contain at least vinylene carbonate and a compound having reduction potential higher than that of vinylene carbonate, and the content of vinylene carbonate is made 0.5-3.0 wt% against the total quantity of the non-aqueous electrolytic solution. It is preferable that the content of the compound having reduction potential higher than that of the above vinylene carbonate is 0.2-10 wt% against the total quantity of the non-aqueous electrolytic solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
