PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voltage stabilizer capable of attaining a stable output voltage while reducing power consumption in a transistor for power control. SOLUTION: This voltage stabilizer S comprises an output detecting/comparing circuit 1 detecting and comparing the output voltage Vo, and activated based on the obtained comparison result, a power control circuit 2 having the transistor 21 for power control activated according to the output and making the output voltage Vo a constant specified voltage, a power consumption reduction resistance Ri for reducing an input voltage Vin to the power control circuit 2 to reduce the power consumption in the transistor 21 for power control and a by-pass circuit 3 provided in parallel with the power consumption reduction electric resistance Ri and bypassing the power consumption reduction electric resistance Ri when the input voltage Vin is lower than the specified voltage.
