Storage-stable polyurethane dispersions (I) made by reacting: (A) polydienes containing at least two groups which react with isocyanate; with (B) polyols with acid group(s); (C) polyisocyanates; and (D) chain extenders. The acid groups in (B) are 60-95% neutralized. Independent claims are also included for: (a) a method for the production of (I) by reacting components (A), (B) and (C) together to give a prepolymer, dispersing the prepolymer in water and then reacting with (D); and (b) elastic coatings obtained by coating rigid or flexible substrates with coating materials containing (I).
