PURPOSE: A method of making biomineral composites by mixing and sintering rocks, crustacean shells, shellfish shells, pectin, sodium salt or the like is provided. The biomineral composites are used for the cultivation of bean spouts, green bean sprouts, sprout-vegetables or hydroponic plant to promote their growth while inhibiting the growth of a microorganism which is likely to grow during the germination or cultivation. CONSTITUTION: Rocks, crustacean shells and shellfish shells are ground, mixed with pectin and sodium salt and then heated at 1,500 to 1,900deg.C for 10 to 12hrs. The sintered material is mixed with water in ratio of 1 to 5:5 to 15, heated and then allowed to settle for 48hrs. The rocks are selected from quartz porphyry, tourmaline, zircon, calamine, feldspar, mica and sodalite. The crustacean shells are oyster shells, the sodium salt is selected from sodium carbonate anhydride, sodium thiophosphate, trisodium phosphate and sodium metaphosphate. The biomineral composites are added to water in a concentration of 1 to 40ppm. |
