The composition comprises mineral particles covered by a binding agent, e.g. a bituminous binder for a bituminous coating, or an hydraulic binder for a concrete composition. At least 60 weight % of the mineral particles has dimensions 2-4 mm, and less than 25 weight % of the mineral particles has dimensions less than 2 mm. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a method for preparing a roadway coating composition; (b) utilization of the composition for the production of a layer of a roadway anti-noise coating; and (c) the roadway anti-noise coating.
