FIELD: mechanical engineering; diesel engines. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to service tests of diesel engines, particularly, to determining beginning of operation of variable-speed governor. According to proposed method, diesel engine is set to free running duty, simultaneously measuring fuel rate and crankshaft speed.
