<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize a display space, and to enhance visibility. <P>SOLUTION: Segments A1, A2, P1, P2 indicating a.m and p.m are arranged in an area surrounded with any of segment sets allocated to display respective numbers for time. When displaying switchingly a plurality of kinds of units or character information, the segments are arranged to use the same character or sign in common so as to save the display space.
