A filter (1) lined transportable sludge de-watering container has a base drain and a first filter chamber (5) separated by an overflow partition (7) from a second chamber (6). The second chamber has a bank (13) of parallel panels that are inclined with respect to the vertical. Liquid arrives via the overflow partition into the second chamber to trickle down the inclined panels. The inclined panels extend the entire width of the container. The panel profiles fit the container rear wall. The bank of plastic or metal panels is removable as a single unit. The smaller side of the bank (13) directed to the container interior is enclosed by a panel.
