METHOD FOR PRODUCING HIGH PURITY METHACRYLIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing essentially pure high-purity glacial methacrylic acid (HPMAA) especially having a purity of≥99% or a water content of <0.05% in high yield. SOLUTION: The high-purity methacrylic acid having the purity of 99% and the water content of≤0.05% is produced by removing various impurities (generally light impurities, heavy impurities and water) from crude methacrylic acid by using a distillation column.
