摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve simplification of drive circuits in an electrophoresis display device which performs display by applying voltage between an information electrode and a scanning electrode and migrating electrophoresis particles to change the display states of pixels and is used suitably to a paper-like display and the like and wherein restriction of driving time is not severe. SOLUTION: In the electrophoresis display device, the scanning electrode consists of a multiple electrode constituted of first and second sub scanning electrodes to which signals are independently applied and the states of the pixels are changed by supplying selection signals to three electrodes of the first and the second sub scanning electrodes of the multiple electrode and the information electrode to apply driving selection voltage between the information electrode and the scanning electrode. Thereby, it is not needed that drive circuits are provided in proportion to the square root of the sum total number of the pixels of the electrophoresis panel and the electrophoresis panel can be driven by a small number of drive circuits.
