PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove dust in a gas to be treated while carrying out fire extinguishing action even if fire is generated in a bag filter. SOLUTION: In the bag filter 1, a first fire extinguishing means 2 for feeding a fire extinguishing medium at firing of a filter cloth 14 is provided on a cleaning piping system of the filter cloth 14. The first fire extinguishing means 2 immediately feeds the fire extinguishing medium at the appropriate time. In the bag filter 1, a second fire extinguishing means 3 for feeding the fire extinguishing medium to dust deposited may be provided in a treatment chamber 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI
