<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet for ink jet recording which shows advantages such as successful ink absorption, the ability to form a high-resolution and high-density image, outstanding image shelf stability to ozone or the like (almost free from fading or image bleeding over time), the availability of a general-purpose printer to the sheet without the necessity to depend on special processes and high productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In this sheet for ink jet recording with a coloring material receiving layer formed on a support, an organic polymer fine particle which is dissolved in a water-insoluble organic solvent contained in ink and shows an SP value of not less than 22, is added.
